I am from Bangladesh. I met with lots of North and South Indian. South Indian people are very friendly, polite and down to earth. The main reason behind their development is they don't fight in the name of religion, they focus on education.

I m from Tamilnadu. My family is lower class daily wage labourers. Still my parents encouraged me to study higher. I have completed my schooling upto 12 th through govt school. And went for higher studies in top college in city by using educational loan and got job offer after completing my college. I myself a first graduate from my family. Now my family is in good status. As a woman, I proudly says that without my family support I am not able to reach this place. This is the power of education and social justice here in tamilnadu which is already set by my rulers.

In Kerala, churches constructed schools for people of all religions, not just Christians, in an effort to promote education over religion. "Pallikoodam" is the word for school in Malayalam, while "pally" refers to a church and koodam refers to "room". Small correction. Pallikkoodam is the term given for schools in Tamil also. But word palli doesn't signify church in particular. It is one of several meanings for the same word..Because the root word Palli is in use since the sangam age and has plenty of meanings such as school, place of worship, battle practice ground, place of sleep etc.
Palli is a old tamil word for school and people staying in groups and is found in ancient sangam literature , koodam is primarily for people coming together , it is a pure tamil word for learning and coming together , even our muslim brothers call palli for mosques(pallivasal) , Palli is found in tamil even before christianity and islam came to India

I am from Delhi. For the past 4 years, I have been working in Chennai. These 4 years I have learned a lot about life and people. Tamil people are collectively sweet and kind to even strangers. Initially I had the ego driving me acting like as a North Indian, I'm superior to the Tamil people and did not care about anything. But the karma played it's drama in my life. My mom was diagnosed with cancer and our family decided to treat her in Chennai. It was one of the popular cancer institute in the country. In the 20+ months of journey, so many Tamil people helped my family and supported us a lot. That too, mostly strangers. My relatives and friends in Delhi, they did not even care about my mom's life. I am so grateful to this Tamil people as without them, my family would be in so much turmoil and we would have lost my mom.
Sometimes strangers help us and care for us and own family people don't care at all
Parents and siblings are considered as family in my pov, other all relatives I don't even like to call them family cuz they don't care, they'd surely come and taunt but never really care abt us. It's same with many people

I am from South India (Kanyakumari). Our politicians decided to give *free lunch at the school* to motivate poor parents to send their kids to school atleast for the food. This made a huge impact on literacy rate in south India. I have never seen anyone in my district who hasn't been to school.

Thanks duruv.. I am from tamil nadu and would proudly want to register something. Mid day meals which was introduced by Kamarajar, the then CM, who did not do his schooling, still understood the value of education. Interestingly, when he asked a child labour why he did not go to school, he asked him back who will feed him if he doesn't work. That is how this policy was implementated. He was such a dear leader to all. I also wish the northern states develop as quickly as south india. All they need to do is focus on education. Everything else will fall into place automatically. Hope the change happens soon 😊

Im a tamilian that grew up in UAE and my school had lots North Indians and Pakistanis. I used to disguise as a north indian to avoid being bullied and laughed at. Tamilians and keralites were seen as the weaker ones and our language was being contantly made fun of, even by the teachers. When asked about this , the minister replies that "budget is allocated on behalf of population " . My question is , In a country which promotes population control , shouldnt it be spending on southern states which has good population control? Isnt it like punishing the south for achieving population control? And also note the difference. Even if its based on population, there is huge difference between 13000 crores and just 59 crores

I am from Maharashtra.. lived in Dubai for 6 years. While i was in Dubai i realised how focussed south Indians were. We North Indians always used to get into fights and look down upon South indians. When i asked one Keralite why they don't get into an argument. He replied that he left his village and come to this country with a purpose in mind and that's their only goal in life.
